Amhara Bank paid up capital reached 6 billion birr
Amhara Bank has announced that its paid-up capital has reached 6 billion birr. The bank is celebrating its first anniversary. At the celebration ceremony of the Bank’s first anniversary, Amhara Bank Chief Executive (CEO) Henok Kebede stated the Bank’s current status and progress compared to its time of establishment.
Amhara Bank has generated assets of 28 billion birr, 19 billion birr deposits, and 15 billion birr has been loaned to the bank customers during the past year.

Amhara Bank made its official launching announcement last year on June 18, 2022, at its Headquarter which is located at Legahar, Addis Ababa, with 4.8 billion birr paid up capital and 6.5 billion birr total capital which made the Bank the most capitalized bank of the time, Currently, the bank’s paid-up capital has reached over six billion.
Amhara was also ahead of the line for having the highest number of shareholders during its time of establishment, over 165,000 shareholders owned a share of the Bank which now has grown to over 191,000, and it has been pointed out that the bank has started its operation with 72 number of brunches and manages to make it grow to 260 branches across Ethiopia holding 1 million number of customers in a year.
Mr Henok, the CEO of the bank also added in his speech that in addition to regular banking services, the bank is providing modern mobile banking services, ATMs, POS, and independently established interest-free banking services and more importantly the bank’s mobile banking application is now fully present to the user community, and its official launch was celebrated along with the anniversary of the Bank.
