Ethiopian Capital Market Authority Registers Securities of Addis Convention Center and Bank of Abyssinia
The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) has approved and registered securities issued by Addis International Convention Center S.C. and Bank of Abyssinia S.C., in line with the Public Offer and Trading of Securities Directive No. 1030/2024.

In a public notice, ECMA said it approved the Registration Statement of Addis International Convention Center S.C. on January 30, 2026, thereby formally registering the company’s securities as required for instruments offered or issued to the public under the directive.
Separately, the Authority announced that it approved the Registration Statement of Bank of Abyssinia S.C. on January 29, 2026. The registration covers a combination of existing and newly approved shares. These include 15 million existing shares already held by shareholders, 12.21 million additional existing shares, and 3.125 million new shares approved for offer to existing shareholders through a rights issue.
Under Ethiopia’s capital market framework, issuers are required to register securities held by shareholders and any securities offered to the public unless explicitly exempted. The registrations mark continued implementation of Ethiopia’s capital market regulations as authorities work to enhance transparency, investor protection, and orderly market development.
